The challenge
Dublin High School runs extensive interior and exterior lighting across classrooms, gyms, corridors, and grounds through long school days and evening events. The campus’s aging fixtures were expensive to power and maintain, and a large, capital-intensive upgrade needed to pencil out for the district.
The solution
NRG Incentives packaged a full campus LED retrofit for the Dublin Unified School District — including battery-backup emergency fixtures with a 90-minute minimum runtime — financed through PG&E On-Bill Financing with zero rebate required, and backed by a 5-year fixture warranty.
The results
The retrofit delivers $96,417.63 in annual energy savings — about $8,034.80 a month — against a $570,821.36 project cost, recovering the investment in roughly 5.92 years, then compounding into net savings while the new lighting keeps working across the campus.
